Annie Barton is Creative Director/Art at AbelsonTaylor. She has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical and biotech experience. She was recently recognized with a Heritage Award for the iconic Actos “Circle of Friends” campaign, one of a small number of campaigns with the distinction of being inducted into the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame. Annie earned a BFA in communication design.
Lisa Black has worked as the Media Relations Manager for the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2016. She formerly worked nearly 20 years as a news reporter for the Chicago Tribune, and before that, as a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in Texas. Lisa graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Marita Gomez leads the creative and content strategy for Crisp. She is a former journalist
who has worked as a reporter, news researcher, assistant news producer, and
news magazine editor for various media outlets, including ABC and NBC affiliates, and
“20/20” News Magazine. She has a master’s in communications management from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Mary Kennedy is Nurse Educator and Team Lead: Care Integration and Complex Care Coordination for Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. During her 28 years in nursing, she has worked in a variety of roles and settings. Mary is also a certified Case Manager, certified Legal Nurse Consultant and Board Certified Faith Community Nurse. She provides quality health care delivery to patients as they transition between the ambulatory, inpatient and community setting.
Barbara Knudtson is Editor of the American Academy of Pediatrics' flagship website, AAP.org. The Academy is an organization of 67,000 pediatricians dedicated to the healthy, safety, and well-being of all children. Barbara has a master’s degree in library science. Prior to working at the Academy, Barbara held editorial and managerial positions at Hospira Pharmaceuticals, Advocate Health Care, Barilla America, and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Rachel Lomasz is a Creative Director at AbelsonTaylor, where she's worked for the past 15 years. In her 20 years in advertising, she’s been able to use words as a marketer, strategist, team player, and devil’s advocate. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the ADDY, Rx Club, Global, and PM360 Trailblazer. Rachel has a BA in journalism and mass communication from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Don R. Powell, PhD, is the Founder, President and CEO of the American Institute for Preventive Medicine in Farmington Hills, Michigan. For more than 35 years the institute has
been a leading developer and provider of health management programs for companies, health
organizations, unions, and government agencies. Don received his PhD from the University of Michigan. Among his awards are the Hod Ogden Medal from the CDC and the U.S Government's Director's Award for Innovative Public Health Contributions.

Gina Steiner is Director of Communications for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She has been a reporter with the Chicago Sun-Times group and with Thomson Reuters, and has been a health communications consultant for many national healthcare organizations and companies. Gina has a Master of Science degree in Health Communication from the University of Illinois.
Mary Stevens is Marketing Communications Manager at Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH). Mary has worked at NCH for more than four years, two of which she marketed Senior Services for the hospital. Mary has a BA in journalism from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in marketing communications from Roosevelt.
Catherine L. Tully has done fitness/wellness programming for the Federal Aviation Administration, the US Postal Service, and many other wellness facilities. Her writing has been featured in publications ranging from American Fitness to DanceTeacher magazine. She has also written and edited health and wellness content for a wide range of web publications. Catherine holds a BA in exercise science and fitness management.
Colette Urban has served as Director of Public Relations for NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL, for 8 1/2 years. She has also worked in media relations in the medical field for Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and the American Cancer Society. She has a BA in journalism and started her career in radio.
Karie Van Grinsven has been the Program Coordinator for the Arlington Heights Senior Center for the past 15 years. Her passion for working with seniors began at a young age while volunteering at a local nursing home and continued through high school and college. She is currently pursuing designation as a Certified Dementia Practitioner and will be co-facilitating a new brain health program at the Arlington Heights Senior Center this fall.
